Joe Harris

Investment Advisor Representative

Joe is a native Atlantan and graduated from West Georgia College where he obtained a Bachelors of Science Degree though the GI bill in 1978. Joe served in the military during the Vietnam era with the United States Air Force Tactical Air Command (TAC) as a Flight Line Crew Chief on F-4, F-105, and F-15 aircraft. He served with the 366th TFW "Gun Fighters” and 116th TFW over a 20-year period. At the end of The Gulf War in late 1992, he retired from his military service with an Honorable Discharge and was awarded two Air Force Commendation awards for outstanding achievement.

Since 1981, Joe has served as a risk, estate, and retirement management executive for the financial services industry. During this time, he has assisted thousands of individuals with the design and implementation of estate, investment and retirement management. Joe has formally served as a Senior Vice President with Investors Financial Group (IFG). He also served as a liaison between the marketing department and a specialized bank investment broker/dealer division. Additionally, he has advised institutional clients and their  investment advisors on the inter-working facets of retirement and estate management. Joe has also served as an account manager for a national consulting firm, hospitals, banks, and city and county governments.

Joe now focuses on customized solutions for clients with major problems and substantial assets. He advises many CPAs, lawyers, trust officers, employees, and officers of several prominent companies. He has instructed CPAs for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits. Joe has also participated in many advanced educational programs (i.e. ICLE: Georgia Estate Planning Institute held at the University of Georgia) to obtain continuing education.

Joe's wife, Suzy, manages Harris Consulting's operating finances. Joe's daughter, Bonnie, has overseen the day-to-day administrative work since 2016. And Joe's son, Robert, became the firm's newest Investment Advisor Representative in 2020.
